Space Reimagining and Schematic Design

OES was tasked to lead the renovation of Santa Barbara Zoo's reptile house, re-imagining their herpetological/entomological exhibit collection. The design phase explored the human-animal connection as it relates to conservation of species at the local, national, and international level through living collections, educational and interactive exhibitry and educational programming. The goal was to present opportunities for empathic learning to compel visitors to bring the exhibit experience with them into their own lives, carrying forward the conservation message and efforts.
