About the Project
Nature is For Everyone.
From wild, open spaces to the cracks in the sidewalk, there is always a way to make a connection with the natural world.
Suitable for city dwellers, rural communities, and everyone in between, the animals highlighted have been chosen for their far reaching range in the United States and high adaptability to human encroachment. We endeavor for every child or adult to be energized to get outside and look for who lives in their Friendly Neighborhood. This exhibit:
-
Offers opportunities for school age children and family groups to connect with the wildlife that is all around them,
-
Encourages self-directed observation and inquiry and highlights the ease with which animals can be found and observed, no matter the environment,
-
and forms a connection to nature for anyone; a child in an apartment has just as much opportunity to observe wildlife as a child living on a farm or walking in the woods.
